A Gen Guard is a patented generator testing and protection system designed to monitor and protect against winding insulation breakdown in the electrical side of engine/generator sets. If an abnormal condition is detected, the generator starter can be locked out, and a warning signal can be sent indicating that the generator requires attention. Gen Guards can also provide an early warning (pre-alarm) of insulation breakdown within the generator that allows maintenance personnel to safeguard against premature failure and the resulting unscheduled downtime. Downtime is reduced as these critical - duty generators are pulled out of production on a predictive schedule for reconditioning, rather than rewound after a catastrophic failure. Generator reliability is improved and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules enhanced as Gen Guard testing is conducted automatically rather than manually.

GROUND INTERRUPTERS

Meg-Alert's Ground Interrupters are needed to work with Gen Guards on generators that have a grounded neutral lead. One ground interrupter is required per generator. Consult factory for correct model on application.
